I want to share my experience with Caro’s Office regarding my visa application struggles. A few years ago, I was arrested outside a bar during a stag night in Cardiff. We were all loaded into a police van and spent a few hours in jail, I was not convicted, but my arrest report said I had drugs in my possession. Thinking it was behind me, I focused on my career. However, when I tried to attend a conference as the now CEO of my British company, I was denied a visa without explanation. I went back again 6 months later to the consulate and now they were saying I was denied due to drug use.
I spoke to a couple of lawyers however, after speaking to Caro, I felt that she was able to answer my questions in lay person terminology. She explained that my past arrest triggered the denials, and correctly explained in detail that a waiver would be needed; the other attorneys did not know the waiver the way she did.
I reapplied for the Business visa so I could attend a convention. I went up to the consulate. I had been prepped by Caro and the officer refused to take the waiver and denied my B1 visa. I felt frustrated and upset as the officer would not take the waiver.
Caro was adamant that we needed to fight this. Without the waiver, my career prospects with my company I feared would not grow as we were doing a lot of trade with the States, and I had now several customers in the US and I wanted to be able to go to them and discuss business growth etc. We filed again. I went up to the London consulate and the officer took the waiver from me this time.
After several months wait, I received a visa from the consulate stating that my waiver was approved. This process took nearly 2 years in total to get approved once I retained Caro. It was a fight to get the Business visa and I would never have been able to get visa had it not been Caro insisting that I fight for this and coming up with solutions specifically to go back to the consulate. I cannot thank her enough.
