E-3 visa is a nonimmigrant visa available to Australian citizens.  It has many similarities to the H-1B visa it also has different benefits.

Requirements:

• Entering solely to work in a specialty occupation.
• Certain number granted each year; very rare the cap is reached.
• Must have a US employer petitioning for the E3 applicant and a labor condition application (LCA) must be filed.
• If the Australian worker is being sponsored abroad the petition is not filed with USCIS. You apply directly with the US consulate/Embassy.
• Initially granted for up to 2 years. Can extend indefinitely.

Dependent spouse and children:

The dependent spouse can apply for their work authorization document (EAD) when they are admitted to the US.

This visa is a great option for a quick, relatively long term visa for Australian talent.
