My wife and I wished to live in the United States. We had a background in hair dressing and photography. We decided to open a hair salon in the United States. Our advice was that we could own a business and set it up in the United States, or we could purchase a franchise. We looked at various existing businesses because Caro had explained or investment was more protected this way.

Caro had advised us on things to do when we were going over to the United States under our ESTA, business things to make sure it was E qualified. We decided to purchase a small salon and wanted to add other services, including my photography once approved. Caro provided a list of documents that the seller had to provide to us and if they couldn’t then not to purchase the business. Without this list we would have purchased the wrong business. The visa requirements we learned are different to those folk who are buying a franchise that don’t need a visa.

The Dublin consulate interview was quite difficult because we purchased a very small salon, so the investment dollar amount was small and they are strict on residence something you should know about if you are a UK national. However, Caro presented the case to show that there was good growth opportunity and future earnings. She advised us how to get this information in the preceding months again we would not have known was required.

We had already reached out to potential customers based on Caro’s advice, which helped get the visa approved. We got a five-year visa. We are now in the States, and our business is thriving. We have added many different services besides hair. We now employ ten full-time staff and thirty part-time staff that offer mobile services.

We do plan on applying for our green card next year and then to sell our business at a big profit. We love the States and thank you Caro and your team.
